Texas State continues to set the record for the number of enrolled students again, making it the 15th consecutive year this school has increased enrollment. Enrollment has topped 34,000 in local and international students. This can be attributed to the campus and setting, faculty, and strong research efforts. Vice President and Provost Dr. Eugene Burgoishas even higher aspirations for Texas State’s future:
“I see Texas State becoming closer and closer to a national research university and we are now on really a program to attain national research university status. That will mean continuing to grow our enrollment, continuing to increase our research expenditures, we also hope to have several other indicators achieved in terms of reaching national research university status and that would include having more faculty who have earned or garnered national and international recognition. We also benefit from our geographic location. We are very attractive in terms of where students want to locate if they are coming from one of the larger urban areas in our state.”
- Dr. Eugene Burgois
Texas State is likely to continue to increase enrollment in the future as a result of a strong staff and research efforts in addition to the convenient location.
